Cheese. Guacamole. Two undeniably great things that can serve similar purposes — thrown onto a taco, placed atop a chip. But are they just as great put together?
The Fresh Market is now selling "guacamole cheese," a gouda-style cheese made with avocado (of course), lime juice and just a bit of chili, tomato, onion and garlic. It even embodies the green of your favorite guacamole.
Presumably, it functions just as your average, run-of-the-mill cheese that isn't combined with guacamole would. Shred it over your favorite burrito, top some enchiladas with it, fill a quesadilla or melt it down for some pre-blended guacamole queso.
The cheese comes in a large wheel that can be sliced into wedges. A pound will run you $24.99 — we all know guac isn't cheap.
Amanti Guacamole Cheese will be available for a limited time in all 161 of The Fresh Market locations starting on May 1. Stock up if it turns out to be delicious.
