WHS Charmers announce new ‘59th line’

Drill and dance team's officers and line members chosen for 2021-2022 school year

According to Waxahachie High School Cherokee Charmers Director Erica Pointer-Wilcox, last weekend (April 23 and 24), the high school hopefuls tried out to join the illustrious “59th Line” of Waxahachie’s famous drill and dance team. A total of 43 young ladies were selected, along with their five newly installed officers for the 2021-22 season when school commences again in August. The Charmers are one of the oldest performing drill teams in the state of Texas.
Leading the Charmers onto the football field in the fall will be officers: (left to right) Junior Lieutenant Keziah Hanna; Senior First Lieutenant Lexie Burchfield; Senior Captain Somer Clark; Senior Lieutenant Victoria Borders; and Junior Lieutenant Hannah Ridgway.
