Local teacher holding book launch at Sims Library

SPECIAL to the Daily Light
Wifi Kicked the Bucket is a children's book written by a Waxahachie junior high teacher.

Waxahachie TX — The launch event for Kishmi Davis’ first children’s book, Wifi Kicked the Bucket, will be at Nicholas P. Sims Library in Waxahachie on Tuesday, Aug. 15 at 5 p.m.

Born and raised in Corsicana, Davis now lives in Ellis County with her three children and guinea pig. In the process of teaching seventh graders how to write at the junior high level in Waxahachie ISD, she soon discovered that she enjoyed making up her own stories. She’s been teaching for 14 years and worked on computers before she started her teaching career.

Davis graduated from Sam Houston State University with a Bachelor of Arts degree in English. Prior to that, she graduated from Navarro College with an Associate of Arts degree in Radio TV/Film.

She is a member of the North Star of Texas Writing Project, Society for Children’s Book Writers and Illustrators, and Children’s Book Insider.

There will be a story and craft time and question-and-answer segment, as well. The public is invited.
