SAGU’s Josh Johnson, the All-Time leading receiver in receptions (161) and receiving yards (1629) has signed a one-year deal with the Odessa Roughnecks, a member of the Intense Football League.

Odessa won the league title last year, winning Intense Bowl II.

The Intense Football League (IFL) is an eight team, indoor football league, which was founded in 2005.

One of the stated missions of the IFL is to, “promote athletes to play at the highest level of professional football possible.”

Johnson’s best season statically was his sophomore year when he caught 94 pass for 993 yards and caught eight touchdown passes.

The Roughnecks leading receiver last year was Joel Babb.

He caught 118 passes for 1507 yards and 27 touchdowns.

As a team, Odessa threw for 303.2 yards per game and rushed an average of 20.5 yards per game.
