Lady Panther volleyball is knee deep into the District 15-4A title race as MHS took a couple of positive steps toward earning a playoff berth with wins over Ennis and Lancaster.

In Ennis against the Lady Lions, the Lady Panthers had little problem in downing the host team 25-12, 25-15 and 25-21.

Leading in kills for MHS was Alicia Green with 13, followed by Ally Byrum with nine.

Taylor Parker led in assists with 15 and Sydney Bierman took top honors in digs with 15.

On Friday the Lady Panthers hosted Lancaster, posting another solid win - 25-12, 25-8 and 25-20.

Midlothian stands at 3-1 in district play behind Red Oak (4-0) and tied with Waxahachie.

The trio of Alicia Green, Jackie Nunn and MEghan Morrow leads the Blue Crew in kills this season.

Green has blasted 123 kills and also leads the team in blocks for kills with 42. Sophomore Cameron Hartson is second in block-kills with 36.

Nunn is second in kills with 116, while Morrow has 100. Taylor Daugherty has added 39 kills to the team total.

In the assist department Taylor Parker leads the squad with 234. Rachael Walters has 95, while Regan Roberts has 72.

Leading in service aces are Hartson and Morrow with 19 each.

All statistics are through the meeting with Ennis but do not include the game with Lancaster.

Midlothian will play Corsicana on Tuesday with an open date in district action on Friday.

The Lady Panthers will travel to Red Oak next Tuesday to take on the district leaders.

In junior varsity action, MHS defeated Ennis 25-12 and 25-18.

Top hitters for the junior varsity were Natalie Valezquez with five kills and Macy Freeman with three kills and a block.

Hannah Miller was the top server. The win brought the teamís district record to 2-1.
