OKLAHOMA CITY The SAGU volleyball team opened a four match weekend with two games on Friday. Friday night proved to be a good night for the Lady Lions.

Their first match after only one match last week was against Southern Nazarene University. SAGU was able to mow down SNU in three games with the scores of 30-22, 30-24, and 30-19.

The second match would prove to be a major test for SAGU.

The Lady Lions scratched and clawed their way to a 34-32 win in Game 1 over Assemblies of God College, Evangel. SAGU used their Game 1 momentum to win Game 2, 30-25.

Evangel turned the tables and won the next two games 30-16 and 30-21.

So to a final game five they went for only the second time this season.

SAGU took the game to the tilt as they edged Evangel in deciding fifth game 15-13 to earn the match win.

Kelani Keoho set a new school record for kills on a match with 34.

Rachel Brown earned 52 assists and senior Kelly Ray collected 40 digs.

Saturday, the Lady Lions will play Oklahoma City University and Mid-American Nazarene University.
