Waxahachie’s softball celebrated its on-going season Monday at the Waxahachie Civic Center.
The varsity and junior varsity teams handed out awards and watched a season video.
The varsity team, coached by Joni Vaughan, handed out six awards.
The team MVP was freshman Tori Banda, who has been the Lady Indians’ starting pitcher for most of the season.
Junior Jerrica Jaramillo received the 3D award for her Desire, Determination and Dedication.
Brianna Banda was named the Most Improved Player, Tori Banda was the Newcomer of the Year, Lauren Simpson and Jocelyn Roberts shared Defensive MVP honors and Sherri Polanco was named the Offensive MVP.
The junior varsity team handed out six awards. Kate Martin and Sam Martin won the Coach’s Award, Brenda Vitela was the Defensive MVP, Abby Alvarez was the Offensive MVP, Andi Allen was the MVP, Vernetta Johnson was the Most Improved Player and Jaramillo was named Best Athlete.
