Lady Indian basketball camp

Waxahachie girls basketball program will be hosting a camp June 4-7. The camp will be at the WHS Gym from Noon-3 p.m. each day.

The total cost of the four day camp is $80. The camp’s focus will be on fundamentals including shooting, ball handling, dribbling, passing, defense and individual play.

WHS soccer to host three camps

The Waxahachie soccer teams are hosting three camps this summer at Lumpkins Stadium.

The first is June 11-14 for boys from 6-year’s old to incoming freshmen. A second camp for girls 6-year’s old to incoming freshmen will be June 25-28.

A camp for boys and girls in the seventh through ninth grades will be Austin 13-15. For more information, contact Jason Venable at

2007-08 free female physicals for WHS

Waxahachie ISD physicians will conduct free female physicals for the 2007-2008 school year on Saturday, May 26 at Waxahachie High School JW Williams Gym beginning at 9 a.m.

All female athletes who are interested in participating in athletics for the WISD next year must have a physical in order to begin participation.

These physicals are free of charge and this will be the only time that a free physical will be administered to male athletes for the upcoming school year. All athletes coming to the physicals on May 26 must bring the UIL physical form with the medical history part signed by a parent.

These forms may be obtained from the training room office at the high school. Reporting times for the physicals are as follows:

Senior and Juniors, 9 a.m.; Freshman and Sophomores, 9:15 a.m.; 7th and 8th graders, 9:30 a.m. For more information or to obtain a physical form call Doc Bowdoin or Stacy Bourne at 972-923-4606 at the WHS High School Training Room.

Volleyball camp set for May 29-June 1

Waxahachie’s volleyball program will be hosting camps May 29-June 1 at J.W. Williams Gym and Solis Gym. The camps run from 8:30 a.m. to Noon and for those entering fifth through seventh grades, the camp is at Williams Gym. For those entering eighth through ninth grade, the camp is at Solis Gym.
