“Classic Country” Golf Tournament

The RBI Club invites you to participate in the 2nd Annual “Classic Country” Mike O’Daniel Memorial Golf Tournament to be held Oct. 15, at the Waxahachie Country Club.

The annual event is staged to support WHS baseball.

The $85 entry fee per player includes cart, green fee and lunch. There will be a 1 p.m. shotgun start. A portion of the proceeds will go to the Mike O’Daniel Memorial Scholarship fund.

Homecoming Cheer Clinic set for Oct. 5

Waxahachie’s cheerleaders will be conducting a cheer clinic Friday, Oct. 5 at the Waxahachie Ninth Grade Academy.

Registration begins at 8 a.m. and cost $20. The clinic is from kindergarten through sixth graders and will take place from 8:30-11:45 a.m.

The kindergarten through second graders will receive a snack, t-shirt and the first 70 will get to ride on the cheerleaders’ float in the Homecoming parade.

The third through sixth graders will get a snack,t-shirt and get to cheer at the football game Friday night.

Tennis for Little Ones

The Midlothian Tennis Association is offering an instructional program for 4-, 5- and 6-year olds. “Little Tennis” classes will be held on Saturdays from 1:30-2:25 p.m.

Parental involvement is required.

Classes will be taught by Carolyn Day.

The program splits the court up into smaller areas ideal for smaller players. What a great way to get the little ones interested in playing tennis.

Cost is $40 per player for six weeks of instruction.

YMCA cheerleader signups

Signups for YMCA cheerleading for ages 3-12 are taking place beginning Sept. 8 through Oct. 8. The season begins Oct. 29.
