The Waxahachie Independent School District released its student-athlete physical examination schedules Monday.
WISD physicians will conduct free girls physicals for the 2016-2017 school year at 6 p.m. May 19 at the Ninth Grade Academy’s George W. Solis Gymnasium.
The free boys physicals are scheduled for 6 p.m. May 24 at the same location.
All athletes interested in participating either football, baseball, volleyball, softball, tennis, golf, track and field, cross country, swimming, powerlifting or basketball for WISD next year must have a physical to participate.
Both the boys and girls physicals will be free of charge and this will be the only time that a free physical will be administered to girl athletes for the upcoming school year.
Athletes attending physicals must bring the UIL physical form with the medical history filled and signed by a parent. The forms can be found at either the main training room of Stuart B. Lumpkins Stadium or the main offices of Waxahachie High School and Ninth Grade Academy as well as Howard and Finley junior high schools.
The head coaches of each sport will also pass these forms out to prospective athletes before physicals during athletic classes.
For more information or to obtain a physical form, call WISD head athletic trainer Doc Bowdoin or assistant athletic trainer Nikki Robinson at 972-923-4606 at the WHS main training room.
