The Waxahachie Lady Indians won the Dickey’s Barbecue Pit Lake Ridge Golf Tournament on Thursday at Tangle Ridge Golf Course.

Playing in wind more than 30-40 mph, the Lady Indians shot a team score of 374. Junior Victoria Garza shot 86, but lost in a scorecard playoff for second medalist honors. Katelynn Will is shot 92, Rachelle Schilling and Adelyn Johnson both finished with 98 points and Allison Pendley, who was moved up from the junior varsity last week, shot 118.

The Lady Indians will use the Tangle Ridge tournament win as a springboard as they return to Tangle Ridge for the district tournament on April 5 and 6. The Lady Indians were seeded in third place behind Lake Ridge and Mansfield Summit high schools in the opening round of district play at 10:30 p.m. on Tuesday at Mansfield Summit High School.
