ROCKWALL, Texas — The Waxahachie High School Lady Indians varsity golf team began day one of their spring season during the Rockwall Golf Classic on Friday at Rockwall Golf Course.

They ended the 2015 fall golf season with a second place finish at the Juan Seguin Invitational held at Tangle Ridge Golf Course on Nov. 13 and 14, with the team of WHS seniors Katelynn Willis and Rachelle Schilling and WHS juniors Victoria Garza and Adelyn Johnson shooting collective 385 and 363 scores during the two-day tournament.

On Friday, Willis, Schilling, Garza and Johnson joined 50 other girls from 13 different 5A classified schools, placing in the top 20 in day one scoring.

Garza, who shot a first-day 91, is currently ranked 10th individually with all the competitors, and the Lady Indians score of 417 places them eighth in the tournament rankings.
