Powered by 20- and 16-point performances from senior Brandon Wright (above) and junior Tanir Horton, the varsity Maypearl Panthers won their fourth district 12-3A basketball game and continued their fight for playoff contention with an 84-80 win against Scurry-Rosser High School on Friday at the Maypearl High School Gymnasium. The victory moved them to 4-9 in the district standings and one place behind Scurry-Rosser, Life Oak Cliff and Kemp high schools, the No. 4 and No. 5 teams in the district.
