RED OAK — Red Oak High School seniors Brandon Moffett, Gabby Veneziale, Mariah Sweeney, Bailey Thomas and Caitlyn Mears signed their National Letters of Intent on Friday at Red Oak High School. Moffet, the lead running back for Red Oak, committed to play football in the fall with head football coach Frank Tristan and SAGU.

Brian Brown, the Hawks head football coach, said Moffet’s positive attitude will add to the Lions’ success.

Moffet will join a Lions’ team that captured its first victory bowl on Nov. 21.

“I would like to thank Brandon Moffett for being a positive role model for our younger players, and always striving to be the best in athletics and academics,” Brown said. “I am excited to see what his future holds.”

Veneziale, Sweeney, Thomas and Mears selected to play women’s soccer at Northwestern State University, Lubbock Christian University, Concordia University-Texas and Friends University, respectively.

The foursome led the Lady Hawks to a 12-0 win against Lancaster High School on Friday at Billy Goodloe Stadium, putting a stamp on the Red Oak girls soccer team’s overall 8-0-1 and 6-0-1 district records.

““All four of these girls have played a key role in our success over the years,” said Matt Loafman, the Lady Hawks head soccer coach. “These ladies are not only quality on the field, they are assets off it as well. I have been proud to coach them throughout the seasons.”
