The Waxahachie ISD Board of Trustees has adopted “Plan C” as the new boundary lines for the 2008-2009 academic year.

The action was taken last week during a called meeting.

Those campuses affected by the rezoning include Marvin Elementary, Dunaway Elementary, Northside Elementary, Shackelford Elementary, Wedgeworth Elementary and Felty Elementary, which opens in August.

Plan C also calls for kindergarten-age students living in the Shackelford and Felty attendance zones to attend their home schools.  Kindergarten students living outside the Shackelford and Felty zones will continue to attend kindergarten at Marvin.

The board also approved that elementary students in first through fourth grades who hold a board-approved transfer have the option of retaining their transfers through their fifth-grade year.

Parents may view enlarged maps of the new attendance zone boundaries at the front office of their child’s current school.

The district also plans to host parent information nights sponsored by campus PTOs, open houses for those students who may want to visit their new school and a district-wide kindergarten roundup.

Watch the district’s Web site at and the Waxahachie Daily Light for those dates.
