Wanda R. Bell, 84, of Waxahachie passed away Thursday, Feb. 17, 2011, in Abilene.  She was born June 26, 1926, in Hill County to Samuel Austin and Cora (Ficklin) Clark. Wanda was a loving wife, mother and grandmother.  She was a godly servant all of her life and loved to serve others. Known to many as Miss Wanda, she nurtured many young children over the years and taught at Discovery Montessori School for many years. Wanda was a member of College Street Church of Christ.

Survivors include five daughters, Leslie Higbee and husband, Robert of Concord, N.C., Judy Davis of Austin, Jan Wray and husband, John of Abilene, Susan Edens and husband, Eugene of Hillsboro and Amy Hardaway and husband, Daryle of Tyler; 13 grandchildren, Bob, Laura, Jonathan, Sarah, Justin, Jessica, Jennifer, Hab, Hannah, Chanan, Eden, Alison and Austin; nine great-grandchildren; sister, Josephine Steed of Tyler; and numerous nieces and nephews. 

She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert W. Bell; two sisters, Mildred Menges, and Nina Reuben and two brothers, Johnny Pledger and Sam Clark.

The family received friends from 6-8 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 19, 2011, at  Boze-Mitchell-McKibbin Funeral Home.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 20, 2011, at Church of Christ on Brown Street with Walter Buchanan and Dean Kilmer officiating. Interment will follow at Bells Chapel Cemetery. 

Pallbearers will be Bob Higbee, Jonathan Davis, Justin Wray, Hab Adkins, Austin Hardaway, Mark Townson and Joel Walker. 

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to either the Church of Christ Thursday Meals or Discovery Montessori Preschool.
