Rose LaNell Hopkins, born May 5, 1942, passed away Feb. 27, 2011. She won her 10-month battle with cancer and was taken to Heaven. Rose was a resident of Midlothian for 27 years.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 38 years, Richard Hopkins; father, T.J. Haynes; and brother, Troy Haynes.

Rose leaves behind three sons, Richard Hopkins Jr. and wife, Jodie of Midlothian, Tray Hopkins and wife, Vona of Midlothian, Michael Hopkins and wife, Sherry of Alvarado; two daughters, Alicia Barnes and husband, Carl of Amarillo and Teresa Hayes and husband, Randy of Amarillo; 15 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; mother, Vyneta States of Amarillo; brothers, Larry Haynes of Vernon, Dale Haynes of Greenville; and sister, Kay Chisolm of Greenville.

She was loved very much by her family and friends and will truly be missed by all who knew her.

The family wants to extend a special thank-you to Seasons Hospice; Doris Greeson, R.N.; and Kelly Shaw, R.N.

A visitation will be held from 6-8 p.m. Tuesday, March 1, 2011, and services will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, March 2, 2011, at Midlothian Funeral Home.
