The Rev. Jesse Manes, 76, of Waxahachie passed away Wednesday, Feb. 10, 2010, at his residence.

Jesse was born Feb. 17, 1933 in Omaha, Texas to Grover and Annie Helms Manes. He was a member of Jesus Name Pentecostal Church in Lancaster. He was an ordained minister and a board member of the Mid-Central IMA.

Jesse is survived by his wife, Kay Manes of Waxahachie; two sons, Paul T.   Manes and wife, Sylene, of Waxahachie and Jesse A. Manes of Waxahachie; a step-daughter; Denise Skeet and husband, Patrick, of Grand Prairie,; a brother, Floyd Manes of New Diana, Texas; mother-in-law, Mary Goodman of Palmer, Texas; father-in-law, Bobby Hall of Waxahachie; four brothers-in- law, Bobby Smiler and wife, Marion, of Georgia, Gerald Smiler and wife,  Sherry, of Cedar Hill, Texas, Darrell Hall and wife, Shannon, of Kaufman, Texas and Boyd Hall of Red Oak, Texas; three sisters-in-law, Susan Adair and husband, Edwin, of Palmer, Texas, Scheryl Brazier and husband, Geno,  of Palmer, Texas, Shirley Daniels and husband, Ray, of Venus, Texas; a grandson, Dylan A. Manes; seven step-grandchildren, Ashlie Clark Reid, Chelsea Skeet, Katrina Clark, Steven Skeet, Wilson Clark, Kayela Skeet, Austin Skeet; numerous nieces and nephews.

The family received friends and relatives from 7-9 p.m. Friday evening at Wayne Boze Funeral Home. The celebration of life was held at 3 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 13, 2010, at Dallas Pentecostal Church, 8126 Suetelle Drive, Dallas, Texas, with the Rev. Bobby Nulisch and the Rev. Joe Campbell officiating. Interment will follow at a later date at the DFW National Cemetery in Dallas.
