Sancho John Bartels
Red Oak - Sancho John Bartels, age 46, of Red Oak, Texas passed away Sunday, September 5th at Charlton Methodist in Dallas. Sancho was born on March 8, 1975 in Castlemaine, Victoria, Australia. He is the son of Lynette Anne Bartels and was united in marriage to Angela Diane Taggart Bartels in December of 2007 at Eastridge Baptist church where he was a member. In November of 2011, he and Angela were blessed with daughter Darah Elizabeth, and in December 2020, they legally adopted daughter Nala Grace. Sancho was a loving husband a proud Daddy to his beautiful girls. In his early life, he was a member of the Australian military and received a Bachelors of Applied Science Degree from La Trobe University and an Honours Degree from the University of Canberra. After completing both of his degrees, Sancho moved to the United States where he became a citizen in 2013. As a medical scientist, Sancho spent time working for hospitals and leading diagnostic companies such as Baylor Medical Center of Dallas, Abbott Diagnostics, Bio-Rad, and finally Roche Diagnostics. He was proud of his work in the medical field, and he loved traveling for both work and pleasure. Sancho was an avid collector of European model trains, and made many new friends in that world and pretty much everywhere he went. He loved his cars, his Christmas decorations, and was also a diehard fan of the Green Bay Packers. Go Pack Go! Sancho was preceded in death by Grandmother Patricia Rose Mary Wilkinson and Grandfather Wesley George Wilkinson. He is survived by his loving wife Angela, beautiful daughters, Darah and Nala, mother Lynnette, uncle John, Sister Christina, and nieces Whitley, Ashtyn, and Hayley as well as a host of other family and amazing friends. He will be dearly missed.
