Gregory A. Wilkerson

Gregory A. Wilkerson was born on October 8, 1967 in Frankfurt, Germany and passed on 08/25/2021 in Waxahachie, Texas. He was an active member of the Oaks Fellowship in Red Oak, Texas. He married Edith (Edie)Wilkerson at Rocky Mountain Christian Church in Niwot, Colorado on 03/19/2005. His past work experience included his own music recording business, ministry, and sales associate at Sears in Effingham, Illinois.

Greg regularly volunteered with Faith in Action at Baylor Scott and White Hospital in Waxahachie. His goal was to leave a legacy, which he did through his music ministry. Another passion of his was in foster care and started fostering children in 2008 where he and his wife would actively pray, shelter and care for all the children they welcomed in their home. He believed in helping others help themselves with a "hand up not a hand out" which he did through donating bibles, goats, chickens, and sewing machines all round the world in honor of his wife and children to help families obtain food, clothing and soccer balls for children to have something to play with. He was an active supporter of NAMI - National Association of Mental Illness and had been involved in many outreaches, fundraisers and educational events. Greg suffered from mental illness and advocated and ministered to those who also shared his experience with the disease.

He was a Prayer Warrior and served with Journey Christian Church as a bible study leader and mentor, Rocky Mountain Christian Church and The Vineyard of Ft. Collins in various volunteer roles. He completed his Bachelor's degree in Religious studies at Regis University of Denver, Colorado and was a trained chaplain and worked as a chaplain in Greeley, Colorado and as a volunteer in Waxahachie Texas. One of his most memorable moments of his life were the times he was able to minister to others one on one including his own children.

He leaves behind his wife "Edie" Wilkerson, children; Adrian 12yrs old, Riley 11yrs old, Sarah 8yrs old, Miriam 7yrs old, parents Frank and Brenda Wilkerson of Estes Park, Colorado, sister Tracey Smith of Jackson, Missouri, and numerous nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers the family has requested for donations to be made to his children's college fund at the Neighborhood Credit Union by Zelle to 3034371378
