Waxahachie - Margie Irene Willig Vaughan died August 20,2021 at Renaissance Health Care Center in Italy, TX. Margie, 85, a resident of Waxahachie, TX, was born January 28, 1936 in Reagor Springs, TX.

As a child she was known to be precarious and followed her older brother Bobby and his friends everywhere. She openly admitted to being a tomboy. She was kind, but straight forward; loving, caring, appreciative of life and hardworking. Margie was a seamstress for Haggar Slacks for 30 plus years. She believed in "Paying it Forward" to anyone who helped her in life. Known for her cooking, she was fondly called Mamason, MeMaw and Mom.

Reading was her passion and watching old westerns. The Virginian, Gunsmoke, Wagon Train and Yellowstone were her favorites. She enjoyed Dallas, Knotts Landing, Neil Diamond, John Denver, George Jones and Allen Jackson. Pastimes included spending time at the lake at Navarro Mills, gardening and fishing.

Margie married Homer Lewis Vaughan in 1967 and between them they shared nine children. Margie is survived by her children, Mesheial (Charles) Graham, Brenda Hallabough, Debbie (Garry) Green, Karen Moon, Paul (Evelyn) Ferguson, Eddie Lewis (Lanita) Vaughan and Ted (Mary Evelyn) Vaughan. She was also survived by numerous grandchildren, great and great-great grandchildren; one sister, Cynthia Osborn; one brother, Robert (Bobby) Willig and numerous nieces and nephews.. She was preceded in death by parents, Fred and Allie Willig; siblings Frederick Willig, Kenneth H. Willig, Juanita Coulston, Maureen Johnson, Ena Boggio, Billie Jo Brock and Ila Jean Schrang; her husband Homer Lewis Vaughan; son, Joseph Jay Ferguson, and stepson Lonnie Vaughan.

Visitation will be held Tuesday, August 24, 2021 from 6-8 p.m. at Boze-Mitchell-McKibbin Funeral Home in Waxahachie, TX.

Funeral Services will be held Wednesday, August 25, 2021 at 2 p.m. at Boze-Mitchell-McKibbin Funeral Home. Interment will follow at Waxahachie City Cemetery.
