William "Butch" Stanton
William "Butch" Stanton entered this world October 12,1947 in Maypearl, born to Fannie Mae Williams and Ralph Everett Stanton. He passed from this life June 24,2021 at his home in Maypearl. After completing high school Butch was drafted into the U.S. Army in December 1967 and spent two years in Vietnam. Butch worked at Bee Creek Ranch for 40-plus years while also working for Maypearl ISD for 25 years. He met Cathy in the spring of 1997. Butch loved to hunt, fish and have gatherings at his house. He was always making things such as knife handles, flutes and whistles from deer horns. He loved to cook and bake and was very good at it, and he made great mustang grape jelly.
Survivors are his spouse, Cathy Jost; daughters, Angie Smith and Amber Frost; grandchildren, Trevor Stanton, Shadow Paige Petton and husband Chase Miller, Kennedy Petton and husband Garrett Hedgepeth, Baily Griffitt and husband Anthony, Michael Wuistinger-Stanton, Megen Smith, Greg Jost and Don Jost; great-grandchildren, Addison, Charles, William, Malvina, Remi, Amberlin and Vivian, as well as numerous nieces, nephews and extended family. Butch was preceded in death by his parents; siblings, Jimmy Stanton, James "Mickie" Stanton and Linda Rudd.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, June 30,2021 at Boze-Mitchell-McKibben Funeral Chapel from 6:00-8:00 PM.
A Funeral Service for Butch will be on Thursday, July 1,2021 at the Boze-Mitchell-McKibbin Funeral Chapel.
