Leo A. Sulak, Jr. (Junior)
Leo A. Sulak, Jr. passed away on January 30, 2021 at Baylor Hospital in Dallas, Tx. After his battle with cancer. He was born in Fort Worth, Tx on October 27, 1951 at All Saints hospital. His parents are Leo A. Sulak Sr. and Evelyn (Lenart) Sulak of Waxahachie, Tx.
He is survived by his wife of 44yrs Christa (Caples) Sulak of Waxahachie, Tx. and daughters, Teresa Sulak, Jennifer Sulak, and Tiffany (Sulak) Allison. His mother Evelyn (Lenart) Sulak of Waxahachie, Tx sister Sharon (Sulak) Massey Waxahachie, Tx. brothers John L. Sulak of Fort Worth, Tx. and Calvin R. Sulak, (wife Roann) of Waxahachie, Tx. He had four grandchildren Kaleigh Padgett, Kelsey Allison, Trenton Herrin, and Austin Allison. Uncle Charles Sulak and wife Eleanor Sulak of Arlington, Tx and Aunt Jerlene Lenart of Irving, Tx. Many nieces, nephews and cousins. Leo "Junior" went to Madison high school in Houston, Tx where he was awarded a football scholarship to Sam Houston University. He married Christa and they had their first daughter in 1977. His dream was to open a restaurant, so he fulfilled his dream. He opened Junior's BBQ Restaurant in DeSoto, Tx on March 4, 1978. Everything he bought was second hand, but the homemade food was always fresh. His Mom's recipes still being used today. Their second daughter Jennifer was born. Business was good but he lost his lease in DeSoto and decided to build his restaurant in Red Oak, Tx. In 1984 their 3rd daughter was born Tiffany. He ran the restaurant for over 40 yrs. And it continues being operated today by his son in law Ryan Allison, and two daughters Tiffany Allison and Jennifer Sulak.
After he retired he bought a farm in Red Oak, Tx and him and his wife worked together raising cows and baling hay. They did go on a few cruises, which they had so much fun! He was a generous man, very giving to his family & friends and to his community of Red Oak, Tx. Everyone that knew him loved him. He will be missed by many. He is preceded in death by his father Leo A. Sulak Sr. , his sister in law Kristi Sulak and baby brother Eddie Ray Sulak.
The services were held at Midlothian Funeral Home on Feb. 4th and a family luncheon was held after at JUNIOR'S BBQ RESTAURANT in Red Oak, Tx.
