Susie Omelina, 93, passed away Sunday, Jan. 24, 2010 at the Ennis Regional Medical Center.
Katie was born July 2, 1916 to Paul and Katy (Potiska) Omelina in Crockett, Texas. Katie’s mother died on the day she was born and her paternal grandparents cared for her until the age of 2. She came to Ennis to live with her aunt and uncle Paul and Susie Omelina Potiska in the Alma community. She attended school in Alma and graduated from school there.
She was employed by North American Aircraft in Grand Prairie and later Temco Aircraft and Chance Vought. She finished her working career with Collins Radio of Richardson.
She was a member of the Ennis Rebekah Lodge and was of the Methodist faith.
She is survived by family and friends. Family surviving here are: Kay Lynn Kovar, Leslie Paul Mach and Leslie T. Mach, all of Ennis.
Graveside services were held Saturday, Jan. 30, 2010 at 10 a.m. in Myrtle Cemetery with the Rev. Keith Murray officiating, under the direction of J.E. Keever Mortuary, Inc.
