James Howard “Jimmy” Garner was born Dec. 13, 1948, in Dallas, Texas, to James Douglas and Frances Garner. He passed away at his home in Midlothian on Feb. 12, 2011.
James served in the U.S. Army during Vietnam, worked for Chaparral Steel for 26 years and then worked at Lockheed Martin in Grand Prairie. He was an avid fisherman, softball player, knife and baseball collector.
James is survived by his wife, Midge; son, Michael Garner and wife, Jessica; granddaughter, Natalie; parents, Jim and Frances Garner; and brothers, Doug and Gary Garner.
A celebration of life will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Feb. 15, at Midlothian Funeral Home. A private burial will be held later at Dallas/Fort Worth National Cemetery.
