Frances Bennett Hanks, 87, a retired accountant, died Thursday, May 3, 2007, at a nursing home in Burleson.
Her funeral was on Monday, May 7, 2007, at the First United Methodist Church of Alvarado with Rev. Gene Gurley officiating. She was buried at White Rock Cemetery in Ross, Texas.
Frances graduated high school from West, where she was raised. She retired from Ft. Worth Title Company and was a member of the Grandview Garden Club and the Alvarado Eastern Star. She enjoyed needle work and reading. She and her husband, Richard, owned and operated the Richard S & S Cafeteria in Alvarado on the square for many years.
She is survived by her son, Rex Bennett Padgett of Ft. Worth; her daughter, Patricia Turner of Carthage; her four grandchildren, Neal Padgett, Rachel Stark, Lorie Macon and Melinda Hedrick; her six great-grandchildren; and her sister, Dorthy Hutto of Waco.
She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Richard Hanks, and her son, Barry Padgett.
