Evelyn Sue Wilson, 55, passed away in her sleep Tuesday, July 3, 2007. She was a teacher, writer and an inspiration to all those who knew her.
Evelyn was born Nov. 4, 1951, to Billy George Wilson and Laverl Pearson Wilson. She graduated from Springtown High School in 1969, earned an associate degree at Weatherford College and completed her master's in English at North Texas State University.
She was preceded in death by her father and grandparents.
Survivors include her mother and best friend, Laverl Wilson; sisters, Judy Wilson Dereta and Debra Wilson Wakeland; brother-in-law, Joe Wakeland; loving nephews, Eric Shane Foster and wife, Kari, and Joe Wilson "Wil" Wakeland; her favorite niece, Meghan Nicole Dereta; and a multitude of very close friends, colleagues and students.
She will also be missed by her loving companions, Oscar and Emma, her favorite pets, and a slew of country cats — she was the "cat's meow."
Memorial services were held at 3 p.m. Friday, July 6, 2007, Friday at White’s Springtown Funeral Home.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Arthritis Foundation.
