Eleanor Adell Grmela passed away Saturday, Jan. 20, 2007, at Baylor Medical Center at Waxahachie. She was born in West, Texas, to Adolf and Caroline Kolar Kocurek. Eleanor worked for the Lancaster ISD, assisting special education and teaching children for many years. She was a member of St. Joseph Church of Waxahachie, St. Joseph Altar Society and the Union of Czech Catholic Women of Texas (the KJZT).
She is survived by her husband of 53 years, George Grmela; sons, Mark and Sheila Grmela, Steven and Toni Grmela, all of Red Oak, Texas, and Joseph Grmela of Waxahachie; daughters, Janice Grmela of California, and Patricia Grmela and husband Ronald Green of Red Oak; brothers, Edwin Kocurek of Irving, Texas, and Harry Kocurek of Oklahoma; sisters, Cristine Polansky of West, Texas, Edith Wagnor of Wylie, Texas, Lillie Sellers of Illinois; six grandchildren, Bradley, Justin, Gary, Kristy, Timothy and Brandon; three great-grandchildren.
Friends and family visitation was from 6-8 p.m. Monday, with a rosary at 7 p.m. The celebration of her life was at 10 a.m. Tuesday, Jan. 23, 2007, in the Pat Boze Memorial Chapel, with Father Guadagnoli as celebrant. Interment followed at Abbott Fatima Cemetery in Abbott, Texas.
Arrangements were under the direction of the Wayne Boze Funeral Home.
