Donald Garvin Fitch,  75, of Nacogdoches passed away Friday, Feb. 18, 2011. He was born June 14, 1935, in Groesbeck, Texas, to Clinton Robert and Thelma Garvin Fitch. He moved to Waxahachie in 1946 and married Jeanne Eason in 1957. Don and Jeanne moved to Dallas in 1962 where he began a long career at Zale Corp. Mentored by Ben Lipshy and M. B. Zale, he started as a draftsman and retired as senior vice president and member of the Board of Directors of Zale Corp. He was a Trustee of the International Council of Shopping Centers. Don was an avid golfer and long time member of Waxahachie Country Club. He was a designated golf rules official with the U.S.G.A. He enjoyed a hobby of water coloring and was a talented architectural and graphics designer. Always determined to do his very best in all endeavors, Don was a man of deep inner strength and Christian values. He was a devoted husband, father and a true and loyal friend.

Survivors include his loving wife, Jeanne Eason Fitch; daughter, Evie Kincaid of Dallas; son, Donald Garvin Fitch Jr. of Nacogdoches; brother, Clinton Robert Fitch Sr. of Waxahachie; sister, Emily Kannenberg and husband, Bob of Arlington; and many nieces, nephews and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents and his grandson, John William Kincaid.

Funeral services are scheduled for 1:30 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 24, 2011, in the chapel of the Boze-Mitchell-McKibbin Funeral Home. Interment will follow at the Waxahachie City Cemetery.

The family will receive friends at 1p.m., prior to the service.
