Habitat for Humanity of Ellis County is seeking volunteers to assist with its fifth annual garage sale, which is scheduled to take place from 7 a.m.- 3 p.m., Saturday, Feb. 3, at First United Methodist Church.
All donations go toward the building of homes for needy families throughout Ellis County, with garage sale chairman Karen Nichols noting that all donations are tax-deductible.
“All donations are tax-deductible and monies will be used to build homes for God’s children in need throughout Ellis County,” she said.
Expressing her appreciation to the community for its support, Nichols said past sales have received great responses.
“Past donations have been fantastic and everyone always welcomes us and supports us. Funds from the last four garage sales gave us enough money for what it costs to build one Habitat home,” she said.
In order to make this year’s sale as successful as those in the past, donations such as good used appliances, clothes, household goods, lawn equipment and more are still needed.
“Whatever a person can donate would be greatly appreciated because we don’t turn down anything,” Nichols said.
Donations can be dropped off from 8-5 p.m., Friday, Feb. 2 at the church, located at 505 W. Marvin St. Large item pickups also can be arranged by contacting Nichols at (972) 937-0783.
