Fireworks Show

Fireworks will light up the night of Midlothian on July 3 at Midlothian High School for the annual display.

The show will begin at dusk. Admission is free.


Fireworks Show

The Maypearl Chamber of Commerce will sponsor a free fireworks display starting at 8 p.m. on July 3 at the Maypearl High School football field. Refreshments will be sold with all proceeds going to the Maypearl Veterans Memorial.


Pancake breakfast

Caring Hands of Bristol will host its annual pancake breakfast from 8-10 a.m. Wednesday, July 4, at the old schoolhouse. The parade begins at 10 a.m. followed by lunch and games at the old schoolhouse. A cake auction will be held to benefit Little League baseball and softball teams. A fireworks show is set for dusk.

Free U.S. flags

In celebration of the nation’s independence, Boze-Mitchell-McKibbin Funeral Home is providing complimentary flags for the upcoming parade on Wednesday. Flags will be available beginning Saturday, June 30, through Wednesday, July 4, at the funeral home.

July 4 Waxahachie ISD band picnic

The Waxahachie ISD band and band boosters will hold a picnic for members and their families (grades six-12) at Getzendaner Park at the parade’s conclusion Wednesday, July 4.


Tenth annual Crape Myrtle Festival and Driving Trail

Waxahachie and the surrounding community will gather for two days of “Pink Petals and Patriotism” July 3 and 4 as part of the 10th annual crape myrtle festival and driving trail at the Crape Myrtle Capital of Texas.

Tuesday’s festivities will kick-off with tailgate parties at 6 p.m. and a live concert by the band “Lone Star Glory” at 7 p.m. at Lumpkins Stadium behind Waxahachie High School, and a fireworks show will commence after the performance. A new addition to previous years’ celebrations, a children’s climbing wall will also be available for use, and concessions will be sold.

The parade is set to begin at 10 a.m. Wednesday on College Street and continue west on West Main Street, left on Grand and ending at Getzendaner Park.
