season is here, and the members of the Ennis Historic Downtown Merchants Association are gearing up for the Autumn Days in Ennis Fall Festival.
The sixth annual Fall Festival will be held Oct. 20, from 10 am-6 pm in downtown Ennis. “Save the date” for this free family-oriented event as organizers say it will be one of the best ones yet,
Live entertainment, sponsored by the Ennis Arts Commission, will include performances by the Ennis Czech Boys, the Pontiax, a martial arts demonstration by the Ennis Black Belt Academy, and the Aggie Wranglers from College Station, which should draw a large crowd and local and visiting Aggies to the festival stage. More entertainment will be announced later this month.
President of the Ennis Historic Downtown Merchants Association, Nancy Swindell, is very enthusiastic about this year’s festival.
“We’re offering a new section this year, ‘Scarecrow Lane.’ Scarecrow Lane will be a reserved area that will be exclusively for Ennis retail businesses, service clubs, or non-profit organizations wanting to promote their businesses,” she said.
Booth rental for ‘Scarecrow Lane’ will be $25 for a 10 x 10 booth and participants will be responsible for their own set-up.
