The congregation of Divine Hope Family Church celebrates seven years in Red Oak on Saturday, Sept. 22, with a pot-blessing meal, games, skits, singing and fun for all.
Senior Pastors Bruce and Rod Howell welcome all of the church’s friends, neighbors and former members to attend part or all of the fun beginning at 3:30 p.m. and continuing until 8 p.m. The meal will be served at 4 p.m. If the weather continues cool, many of the games and activities will be outside.
Singers and musicians who have participated in the Red Oak Gospel Singing Jubilee and Jamboree community singings held monthly on the second and fourth Saturdays will be special guests.
Divine Hope Family Church began as a home church that soon moved to the choir room at Red Oak High School prior to its permanent home, located at 620 Red Oak Road, one block east of Interstate 35E.
“Divine Hope Family Church is an interdenominational Bible-believing congregation offering a unique worship experience,” a spokesman said. “Upon entering the sanctuary, visitors receive a warm welcome and understand why the auditorium is referred to it as the family room. In addition to pews, there are pictures, bookcases, flowers, pillows and other touches to make each person feel comfortable and at home.”
“If you’re one of those who have driven by and wondered about this church, you are welcome to come and be part of the DHFC Family on Saturday and their regular worship services,” said Richard Clements, co-pastor.
