The Board of Directors, officers and staff of Citizens National Bank of Texas have recently named Pat Merrill to the Citizens National Bank of Texas Board of Directors.

“I think very highly of Pat. He is an intellectually sound individual with a great love for our community, he is a perfect addition to our board,” said George Singleton, chairman of the board of directors.

Merrill received his bachelor of science from Oklahoma State University and is a graduate of the Certified Medical Representatives Institute. 

He enjoyed a dual career as owner of his own business, Merrill Medical, Inc. and served in the U.S. Navy where he retired as a captain after serving as chief of staff and deputy commander, Naval Reserve Intelligence Command.

“I have a great respect of Citizens National Bank, its employees and their ongoing community support.  I am honored to have this opportunity to be involved in the growth and future of our wonderful community,” said Merrill.

Merrill and his wife Jan are members of the Central Presbyterian Church in Waxahachie. In the church, Merrill serves as an elder and session member, is a member of the choir and hand bell choir and a ministry team leader.

He is currently involved with Big Brothers and Big Sisters and Champions for Children, and is a prior board member and past president of HOPE Clinic and the Waxahachie Rotary Club.   

“With Pat’s military and medical background, he brings a unique perspective to the bank and the board,” commented Mark Singleton president and CEO of CNB of Texas. “I’ve served with him on other boards and have always been very impressed with his thought process.  I look forward to working with him on the CNB board and gaining his insight when making decisions for the future of the bank.”

CNB of Texas is a $500 million in asset bank that serves the financial needs of Ellis County and the surrounding counties.
