Superintendents, teachers, students and parents celebrated the 2020-2021 school year at Oaks Church on Monday, Aug. 17.

Superintendents from a number of Ellis County schools were invited to share their plans for the upcoming school year at a spirited Back-to-School celebration hosted by Oaks Church on Sunday.

According to a news release, "With mascots present and church members cheering their school’s superintendent on, the room was filled with hope of a safe and engaging school year. Prayers of blessing and protection were prayed over the students, teachers, staff and administration."

Teachers were also given the opportunity to "shop" for free classroom supplies as well as win big prizes and raffles. Students and families also walked away with gifts and treats and took pictures at school-themed photo booths to celebrate.

"This school year may not be a traditional one, but it will be an unforgettable one!" stated the release from Oaks Church.

Oaks Church is located at 777 S I-35E in Red Oak. They have service on Sundays at 9:15 a.m. and 11a.m.
