There are 1,533 total cases of COVID-19 in Ellis County, including 597 active cases and 916 recoveries, according to the case line list provided by Texas Health Trace (THT) for July 9.
According to a news release, another loss has been reported from COVID-19. "It is with a heavy heart that we report one additional loss of life due to COVID-19, bringing the total to twenty COVID-19 related deaths in Ellis County. This resident was an 82 year-old female of the City of Italy. Our thoughts and prayers go out to all of those who have experienced loss during these challenging times."
Additionally, Ellis County Judge Todd Little said, "We continue to see an increase in active cases across the county with the addition of today’s 68 active cases. We must remain vigilant and committed to maintaining personal responsibility to slow the spread of the virus in our community."
