The Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT) will host a virtual public hearing for the urged Farm-to-Market 664 (FM 664) project from US Highway 287 (US 287) to Westmoreland Road in Ellis County.


The presentation for the public hearing will be available from Thursday, July 9 through Friday, July 24 at www.keepitmovingdallas/FM664. The presentation includes: maps, drawings and other materials on the proposed project.


Representatives of the public may call 469-547-7164 to present verbal testimony immediately following the virtual public hearing presentation on Thursday, July 9 at 6 p.m. through Friday, July 24 at 11:59 p.m.


According to a news release, "Comments can also be submitted online, via email (Nelson.Underwood@txdot.gov) or mailed to the TxDOT Dallas District office at 4777 East US 80, Mesquite, TX 75150 to the attention of Nelson Underwood, P.E. All comments must be submitted or postmarked on or before July 24, 2020 to be included in the public record."


The proposed improvements to FM 664 would include the expansion of the current lane two-lane rural roadway to a four-lane urban roadway with a raised median. Additionally, FM 664 would be widened from US 287 in Waxahachie to Westmoreland Road in Ovilla.


This project would include the constructing of 12-foot travel lanes, 14-foot wide outside shared lanes and sidewalks.
