The Ronald McDonald House Charities of Greater North Texas (RMHC) recently shared their 30 high school scholarship winners and 13 grant recipients of their annual Grants and Scholarship Program.

According to a press release, "RMHC aims to extend the reach and impact of donation dollars for charities that benefit the well-being of children, in addition to providing scholarships for high school seniors. Over the past 25+ years, RMHC has awarded more than $8.6 million in funding through its Grant Program and over $237,000 in the Scholarships Program within 3 years alone."

RMHC awarded a $2,000 scholarship to 30 local seniors, and a student in Waxahachie ISD was a fellow recipient. Some of the recipients are:

· Steven Cloud, Waxahachie Global HS

· Sarah Lewis, Martin HS

· Shanivi Srikonda, Irving HS

Cloud shared his thankfulness to be a recipient of this scholarship.

"It’s both relieving and encouraging. One of the greatest stressors with college is being able to pay for it and scholarships like the one granted by the Ronald McDonald House Charities of Greater North Texas, enable me to focus on my education with my mind at ease," Cloud shared.

Cloud will be attending Rice University next year and has chosen to study Physics and Mathematics.

He also shared what he’s most excited for, "I think generally the opportunities that will be offered there that I’ve just never really been able to experience within a smaller town like Waxahachie.

RMHC recently awarded over $40,000 to charities and non-profits to extend its reach and impact on children’s health and well-being locally. A few of the grant recipients are:

· North Texas Food Bank

· YMCA of Metro Dallas

· Lena Pope Home

· Youth World

· Immunization Collaboration of Tarrant County
