The Waxahachie Police Department is investigating a report of a sexual assault that occurred in an area just outside of Getzendaner Memorial Park in the hiking trail area on May 29.

The report was taken near 12 p.m that Friday. The investigation is ongoing, and no arrests have been made.

According to a news release, “The Waxahachie Police Department wants to remind the public they should always be aware of their surroundings when out in public. If you are alone and in an isolated area, we ask that you be vigilant regarding your surroundings.”

The police have obtained some information on the suspect: male, black, approximately 5”5 in height with a slender build. The suspect was said to have a short hair style described as a fade, shorter on the sides and longer on the top. He was seen wearing black pants and a red shirt. A sketch has been provided to help community members identify the suspect.
