On May 28, the City of Waxahachie selected Warren Kettemen as the new Director of Economic Development.

Currently Ketteman is serving as the Economic Development Corporation Director in Forney, a position he has held since February 2015.

Ketteman will join the City of Waxahachie following the retirement of Executive Director of Economic Development, Doug Barnes earlier this year. Barnes served the City of Waxahachie for 18 years.

Prior to his role in Forney, Ketteman served as the Executive Director for the Lake Granbury Area Economic Development Corporation. He has also served the cities of Alice, Texas, Buda, Texas, and Mt. Vernon, Illinois.

“Through his years of service and economic development experience, Warren Ketteman has developed a broad range of expertise which will be a tremendous asset to the City of Waxahachie. We are excited to have him join the Waxahachie team,” said Michael Scott, City Manager.

Ketteman holds a Bachelor of Business Administration from Fontbonne University in Saint Louis, Missouri. He also holds the certifications of Certified Economic Developer Designation (CEcD) and attended the Economic Development Institute at the University of Oklahoma.

“I would like to thank the City of Waxahachie for selecting me as their new Economic Development Director.  I am excited about the opportunities presented by this position and will work hard to earn the respect and trust of the Waxahachie business community,” Ketteman shared.

He will begin his position in Waxahachie on June 8, 2020.
