The Oaks Church in Red Oak is offering their resources to anyone that needs help during this pandemic.

The church is hosting a community food bank on Saturday April 11. This event will have a ‘big distribution,’ where they will be handing out hope kits, which will be filled with toilet paper and many other necessities.

“We’re calling them hope kits, so it's food, supplies, snacks, there’s some toilet paper,” Andy Lehman, member of the Oaks Church shared. “It has four or five bags of snacks, foods, supplies, pantry type stuff that people would need.”

These kits will be distributed Saturday from 9:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.

Additionally, every Wednesdays they will have a Kids Breakfast & Lunch Program for any child in the community ages 1-18 years old. This program will be hosted in partnership with Equal Hearts organization.

“We’re partnering with a local organization to distribute every week..a kit of five lunches and five breakfasts that any parent in the community can pickup for their kid,” Lehman explained.

This program is opened to anyone in the community. These meals will be given Wednesday’s from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Oaks Church in Red Oak and at Life School in Cedar Hill.

“We just want to be able to come along people in this time that are struggling and just be able to help,” Lehman shared.

The Oaks Church has asked the community to fill out a form online prior to the date in order to get a good estimate on how many kits they will need. To fill out the form, go to corona.oaks.church and click I NEED HELP.
