Every Thursday, the Nicholas P. Sims Library will be hosting a virtual story time on the City of Waxahachie Facebook page.

Their Facebook page states, "Let's keep reading, Waxahachie! Thursday nights at 7 p.m., we will kick off the storytime with a short story read aloud from a children's book.

At 7 p.m the event will start and a community member, staff member or someone with ties to Waxahachie will read a short story aloud through a video.

On April 2, Nicole Matthews from Sims Library kicked off the virtual reading with "The Pigeon Wants a Puppy."

Once story time is finished, the staff encourages families to pick out a book and keep it going in the comfort of their home.

In addition, the library staff has created the Kids at Sims Library page to be a source of information and fun.

A Facebook post stated, "We know that there are so many resources available but if you are looking for something and you cannot find it, please ask us!! It’s what we do best!!! Also, stay tuned for stories, crafts and all kinds of fun activities! We can’t wait to get started!!!"
