As of April 6, the Ellis County Local Health Authority has confirmed six additional cases, which increases the countywide total to 38 cases of COVID-19.


Additionally, this includes an 86-year-old resident of Legend Oaks Healthcare and Rehabilitation located in the city of Waxahachie. After a change in her condition, she was discharged to Baylor Scott & White Medical Center in Waxahachie, where she is in hospital isolation.


According to a statement issued by the city of Waxahachie, “The Legend Oaks Facility is working with the Texas Department of Health and Human Services and following all guidelines and protocols. City and county officials and Emergency Management personnel are working with this facility and monitoring the situation closely, and offering assistance when needed. The city is currently assisting in acquiring additional personal protective equipment (PPE) for this facility.”
