Waxahachie ISD joined other school districts in Ellis County in deciding to remain closed to students through April 3.

Our teachers and staff will come back to work on Monday, March 23, practicing appropriate social distancing, and will begin implementing distance learning options for all students. Campus principals and classroom teachers will be sending you more information regarding learning opportunities and classroom assignments at the beginning of next week.

If your family will need assistance with Internet access or devices to aid in distance learning for your child, please fill out this survey, and a member of our staff will be in touch with you to determine how we can help.

We will continue to feed students on weekdays during the time the district is closed to students. Drive-through meal pickup lines are located at Turner, Northside, and Wedgeworth. Breakfast is available from 7-9 a.m., and lunch is available from 10 a.m.-12 p.m. Meals are available for all children in our community ages 1-18. Children must be present to receive meals.

Grades for the third nine weeks were originally due Friday, March 20. Because our teachers are not on campus this week, we have extended this deadline for them. You can log in to Skyward for your student’s final grades for the third nine weeks after 4 p.m. on Wednesday, March 25.

While students are out of school, we encourage you to practice social distancing and stay close to home. If we all work together, we can keep our community healthy and safe. As always, please reach out to us with any comments, questions, or concerns atinfo@wisd.org.
