The Greater Cedar Creek Lake community will host the 37th annual KCKL Big Bass Tournament on Saturday, Mar. 28 and Sunday, Mar. 29. Cedar Creek is located approximately 50 miles southeast of Dallas. Tournament headquarters will be at Log Cabin City Park, located between Clear and Caney Creek bridges, half a mile east of the intersection of Highway 198 and Highway 3054.
The tournament offers over 120 cash prizes for Big Bass weighed each hour and to the winners in the overall final standings of the event. At 3:00 p.m each day, there will be drawings for over $10,000 in door prizes.
Sanctioned by the Texas Conservation Society, the tournament meets conservation objectives by returning the fish back into the lake under the “Live and Release Program.” This event has also supported regional fisheries enhancement efforts with cash contributions to fishery conservation causes. Past recipients have included Texas Black Bass Unlimited and the Athens Freshwater Fisheries Center.
Entry fee for adult anglers is $85 per day. Youth entry fees (under 16 years old) are only $10 and youth contestants are eligible for all tournament prizes including 1st Prize. In fact, the 2012 tournament was won by a youth angler.
Contestants may enter by mail or at the Lake.
