David Camillus “Cam” Fearis II went home to be with his Savior on Feb. 13, 2020.
Cam Fearis was born to David Porteus Fearis III and Audrey Beets Fearis on Jan. 5, 1960, in New Orleans, Louisiana.
Cam graduated from Waxahachie High School in 1978, where he met his high school sweetheart and first great love, Sheri Kay Corbin. Cam and Sheri married in 1981, and Cam graduated from Texas Tech University in 1983.
The couple later moved home to Waxahachie, where they welcomed their children Cami in 1987, Garrison in 1989, and Galen in 1991. The family shared many joyful years together camping all over the country, flying airplanes, and finding their church home and family at Midlothian Bible Church.
In 2005, after a long battle with cancer, Sheri Fearis went home to be with the Lord. After this deep loss, Cam was blessed to find another great love when he met Cindy Evans Nesbit. Cam and Cindy married in 2006 and Cam became a beloved “bonus” dad to Cindy’s six children Breanna, Bailey, Bentleigh, Braiden, Brooks and Berklee Nesbit. In 2007, Cam and Cindy were overjoyed to welcome their 10th child, Jordan, who completed their blended family.
Cam worked as a real estate appraiser until 2006, and enjoyed serving as the manager of Midway Regional Airport until 2008, when Cam and Cindy started a successful logistics and transportation business, C&C Transport.
As a blended family, Cam and Cindy enjoyed large family gatherings, watching Cam officiate numerous family weddings, have met each new family member with joy, and continued to enjoy serving at MBC. His entire life, Cam was an avid outdoorsman and hunter, and loved to fly airplanes and travel. But most of all, Cam loved to spend time with his family and friends. He always prioritized the needs of others above himself.
Cam is preceded in eternal life by his first wife Sheri, his mother Audrey, and his niece Rebekah Alyssa Turner.
Cam is survived by his adoring wife Cindy; his 10 children and their spouses Cami and Matt Eytcheson, Garrison and Jaclyn Fearis, Galen and Julia Fearis, Jordan Fearis, Breanna and Micah Scott, Bailey and Kelly Bryant, Bentleigh Nesbit, Braiden and Noah Foster, Brooks Nesbit, and Berklee Nesbit; his father, Dr. David Fearis; sister, Laura Turner; and niece, Ande Fulbright. Cam is also the fun-loving Pappy to his grandchildren Baylee, Kailyn, Brekin, Corbin and Turner Eytcheson; Ashtyn, Christian and Ryder Bryant; Knox and Lane Scott; and Lucy K and Owen Foster.
For Cam’s 60th birthday in January, Cindy threw him a huge surprise party where friends and family from all walks of life celebrated Cam; the family is grateful to have memories from that festive night.
Cam had a great faith in and love for Jesus Christ and raised his family in His image. Although Cam’s passing was sudden and unexpected, his family is comforted by the promise of eternal life and knows they will see Cam again.
Please join us to celebrate Cam’s life at Midlothian Bible Church on Saturday, Feb. 22, at 2 p.m. In lieu of flowers, please donate in the name of Cam Fearis to the Midlothian Bible Church benevolence fund (Midlothian Bible Church, 4250 FM 663, Midlothian, TX 76065), as it was always Cam’s heart to serve others.
