RED OAK — The juggernaut that the Class 5A No. 3-ranked Red Oak Lady Hawks have become continued to steamroll the competition in District 14-5A on Tuesday night as they romped past Cleburne, 67-25.

Deja Davis and Amyia Bowie scored 14 points each to lead the Lady Hawks (21-6, 7-0), who had four players reach double figures. Aliyah Harden finished with 11 points and Breanna Davis with 10.

Other scorers for Red Oak were Aniyah Johnson with eight points, Micah Cooper with seven, Kinzie Taplin with three and Aziya Wilson with two.

Red Oak jumped out to a 16-3 lead to end the first period and continued to pull away. The lead grew to 31-9 at the half and 57-17 at the end of three.

Wendel’lyn Moblin led Cleburne (15-15, 4-3) with 10 points.

The Lady Hawks were scheduled to face Midlothian on Friday evening with a chance to tighten their grip on first place in the district standings. They’ll travel to Joshua on Tuesday evening.

14-5A boys: Red Oak 86, Cleburne 56

RED OAK — Colbie Holiman led the way with 21 points as the Class 5A No. 16-ranked Hawks cruised to an easy win over the Yellowjackets on Tuesday night.

Latrone Turner added 15 points, and Joshua Sasser and Braylon Peterson chipped in with 10 points apiece for the Hawks.

Other Red Oak scorers were Keon Thompson with nine, Emerson Wallace with seven, Darren Eubanks with five, Keshawn Green with four, Cavion Stoudemire with three and Austin Foster with two.

The Hawks (15-11, 5-0) jumped out to a 28-7 first-quarter lead and never looked back, leading 45-20 at halftime and 76-35 entering the fourth period.

The Hawks were scheduled to travel to No. 12 Midlothian on Friday night to decide which team will emerge with the outright District 14-5A lead. They will begin the second half of the district schedule on Tuesday night at Joshua.
