Fedell “Mickey” Galvan was born April 23, 1942, in Peoria, Texas, to Felix and Carmen Galvan. Mickey retired as a Scale Operator at TXI after 40 years beside Matt, Wayne, Johnny and Danny.
Mickey married his wife, Kay, on April 4, 1975. Together they had two children: Dale and Amanda, and Marla Gail and Chris.
Mickey is preceded in death by his boy, Dale; his parents; and his siblings: Toni, Frank, Louis, Nana and Minga.
He is survived by his wife of 44 years, Kay; his daughter and son-in-law, Amanda and Dwayne; and Marla Gail; and daughter-in-law, Stephanie. Mickey had a passel of grandkids: Christina and her husband, Justin; Haley, Ezra, Olivia, Taiya, TJ, Bob, Kayty, Cody, Maegan, and Brittany. He is also survived by his siblings: Tommy and his wife, Minda; and Mary; his good buddies, Lisa and Larry; and a heap of nieces and nephews.
Mickey was a mild-mannered man that took life one day at a time. He enjoyed playing washers with Dale – even winning a couple of tournaments! He was an avid TV watcher with his favorites being The Andy Griffith Show, The Lone Ranger and all western shows. He loved word search puzzles and the Dallas Cowboys.
After a hard fight with cancer, Mickey joined Dale with the Lord on December 11, 2019.
Visitation will be at Midlothian Funeral Home on December 16, 2019, at 10:00 a.m. A memorial service will be at 11:00 a.m.
