Horace Bratcher, age 93, went home to be with his Heavenly Father on October 22, 2019. He was born on February 19, 1926, in Waxahachie, Texas, to his loving parents, Emmett and Carrie Mae Bratcher. He served in the U.S. Navy during WWII.
Horace was well known by his involvement in the community and was close to many. He was an entertainer of music and a champion horse raiser. He was a devoted, long-time member of Brown Street Church of Christ. He was an Odd Fellow member and a member of the Masonic Lodge of Waxahachie. The memories Horace shared with his family and loved ones will be forever cherished and never forgotten. May his legacy live on.
Horace is survived by his loving wife of 72 years, Doris Bratcher, and her sister Erma Fuller and his sister Allyne Carroll; nephews, William J. Ratcliff, Jr., Mike Fuller and wife Debbie; niece, Nancy Brown; great-niece, Jennifer Adams and husband Tray; great-nephew, Booth Beckett and numerous extended family members and friends.
He is preceded in death by his parents; sister, Margie Ratcliff and brother-n-law, William J. Ratcliff, Sr.
Visitation for family and friends will be from 6 - 8 p.m. on Friday, October 25, 2019, at Boze-Mitchell-McKibbin Funeral Home in Waxahachie.
Funeral Service for Horace will be at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, October 26, 2019, at the Brown Street Church of Christ in Waxahachie, Texas, with Mr. Walter Buchanan and Mr. Steve Bailey officiating. Interment will follow at Waxahachie City Cemetery.
