OKLAHOMA CITY — Southwestern Assemblies of God University men’s soccer took on Oklahoma City University at Brian Harvey Field on Saturday evening. OCU and SAGU came into the match winless in the Sooner Athletic Conference. In the end OCU (6-8-0, 1-5-0) celebrated their first conference win with a 3-0 victory over SAGU.

Junior Mazvita Chidarara led the Lions with 8 shots and 4 shots on goal during the match.

The Lions managed 18 shots during the match with five shots-on-goal. SAGU had six shots in the first half and twelve in the second half.

Seven yellow cards were given during the match.

SAGU and OCU combined for 26 fouls.

SAGU had 7 saves for the match while OCU had 5 saves in the match.

SAGU (2-11-1, 1-5) will play John Brown University on Saturday at 3 p.m. at the Lion Athletic Complex. JBU is 5-0 in the Sooner Athletic Conference.

OKLAHOMA CITY — Oklahoma City University hosted Southwestern Assemblies of God University in a Sooner Athletic Conference match on Saturday. OCU (8-6-0, 4-2-0) scored two goals in the first half and one in the second half to defeat SAGU (2-12, 0-6) by a final of 3-0.

Junior Natalia Torres, freshman Alyssa Muir and sophomore Evelyn Cabral each had a shot for SAGU during the match. Cabral had the Lady Lions’ best opportunity to score on the evening.

Senior Sarah Palmer faced 13 shots-on-goal and finished with 10 saves.

SAGU once again stepped away from the SAC for a Tuesday match against NCAA Division III opponent University of Dallas. On Saturday, SAGU will play SAC conference leader John Brown University.
